28 Feb Confused by all the options in Office 365? Skype, Yammer, Teams, SharePoint…
Office 365 cloud has lots of features, but giving people access to too many features can mean that they’ll use many of them improperly or not use them at all.
Cloud platforms are ever evolving and so are the range of features and tools available within them. As much as they may make many lives easier, they also bring a lot of confusion & disorder between users.
The danger is that users will stray…avoid ‘shadow IT’ from creeping into your business by letting your team members find their own familiar, consumer-style products. Instead, give them the strategy & training on the right tools that best-fit the needs of the business.
Let’s take an overview of Microsoft Teams
Operating from a single ‘pane of glass’, users can access instant messaging, file sharing, calendars, video conferencing, intranet-style information wikis and notes all within the one desktop application or online app. Joining a long-line of communication and collaboration tools; Team’s is Microsoft’s single-platform answer to a multitude of business operational needs.
By switching to Teams, you won’t need to look back on the days of switching between a multitude of apps, losing track of your files or drowning under a mountain of emails.
A quite surprising statistic is showing Teams to be already outstripping all previous Microsoft products to be their fastest growing platform yet! The simplicity combined with an all-encompassing approach, has captured the crowds looking for a 365-linked alternative to the likes of Slack.
Teams is available on the majority of Office 365 subscriptions at no extra cost. Most of the core features are available as standard, however there are additional features such as the embedded phone system, which can carry additional fees.
Lost among a multitude of tools and resources?
If you are swimming in a sea of far too many options and are considering consolidating, Teams might well be the best answer.
