About

Puzzle Technology.

A certified IT support business in Huntingdon, and the same service levels whether you have five people or a hundred.

What we do and who for

We provide managed IT support, security, Microsoft 365 management, voice and connectivity, backup and project work, among other things. Solving your technology puzzle is the short version of all of it, and the name was not an accident. Our customers typically run from a couple of people to around a hundred users, with a few larger than that, and they all get the same service levels whichever end of it they sit at.

None of it is the point in itself. The point is that when the technology works, so do the people using it — and most of what we do is unglamorous work to keep it that way.

We have been trading since 2016.

Independently owned

Puzzle Technology is owned by the people who run it. There is no group above us, no investor waiting for a return, and nobody to answer to but our customers — which matters more in this trade than it sounds, because a good number of IT companies have been acquired by larger groups over the years and the customer is usually the last to be told. We are not part of a group, and we are still independent. When we make a decision about your service, the person making it is the person you can ring.

The Antechs name

This company has been incorporated in its own right since 2016. It traded as Antechs Managed IT Support and was later renamed Puzzle Technology — the same registration and the same people, bar a director who has since retired.

Before that, Antechs Managed IT Support was a department inside another Antechs-branded company rather than a business of its own. Antechs was a group of companies concentrated on retail trade in Cambridgeshire, and Puzzle Technology has had no association with that group since it separated in 2016.

If you are searching for the IT support company Antechs in St Ives, you are probably looking for us. We are not in St Ives any more, but it is very much an area we still cover.

We date the business from incorporation rather than from anything earlier, because that is the date we can evidence at Companies House and you can check.

How we operate

We run an ISO 27001 information security management system and an ISO 9001 quality management system, and we hold Cyber Essentials. That is unusual at our size and it is deliberate. It means the work is documented rather than remembered, that mistakes are recorded and corrected as well as apologised for, and that the things we tell you about patching, security and backups can be evidenced when your customer asks. We do all of them to ourselves too, which is the part that makes the advice worth having.

The certificate numbers are published so you can check them rather than take our word for it.

Discretion

We do not publish a client list. We will not announce your name when you sign, we will not post about your business, and we will not use your logo to win our next customer.

This is a position rather than a shortage of customers willing to be named. Several of the businesses we support would rather their suppliers did not advertise the relationship, and for anyone answering supply-chain security questionnaires that is a reasonable preference.

It does not mean you have to take our word for anything. If you would like to hear it from a customer, say so and we will ask one whose situation looks like yours whether they are willing to have a candid conversation with you. If they are, we will put you in touch. Permission is asked every time, and a no costs them nothing and you nothing.

It is also why there is no social media on this site. A public follower list is a map of who works with whom.

Who runs it

Robert Childs, Managing Director, with over 25 years in the IT industry, having started in it at fourteen. Responsible for the technical direction of the business and the point of escalation if something has gone wrong and you are not getting anywhere.

Questions people ask

How big is your team?
Small, proactive and professional. Small enough that the person who answers knows your estate, senior enough that they can do something about it, and organised enough that it is written down either way.
Why are there no case studies?
Because we do not publish our client list, and a case study is a client list with more words. Anonymised ones may come later — they are the version that does not cost a customer their discretion. In the meantime, if you want a reference we will ask a customer whose situation looks like yours whether they are willing to talk to you, and put you in touch if they are.
What happened to Antechs?
Antechs Managed IT Support is what this company was called before it was renamed Puzzle Technology. Same registration, same people. If you are looking for the IT support company Antechs in St Ives, you have almost certainly found it — we are in Huntingdon now, and St Ives is still very much an area we cover.
